Our Vision
To be a thought leader in the out-of-school time field.

Our Mission
To foster high quality in out-of-school time programs, which provide opportunities for children and youth to succeed.

SCOPE OF WORK
Prime Time Palm Beach County, Inc. is dedicated to ensuring that afterschool and summer programs in Palm Beach County are of the highest quality. We provide resources and technical assistance to program providers throughout the county in four key areas:
Quality Improvement
The Quality Improvement System (QIS) for afterschool consists of services and supports to increase afterschool program quality. Using the Palm Beach County Quality Standards for Afterschool as the foundation for the work, our quality advisors guide participating programs through a self‐assessment process and development of an improvement plan. They assist executive directors, program managers and staff in identifying and implementing opportunities to improve quality for children and youth, and encourage the use of other Prime Time and community resources.
Professional Development
Prime Time has partnered with stakeholders and educational institutions in the community to create a comprehensive professional development system that supports afterschool practitioners in Palm Beach County along a targeted pathway of professional development and training. The system, which connects education, compensation, and retention, consists of core competencies, credit and non‐credit educational pathways, scholarships and other financial incentives, and career advising.
Research and Evaluation
Prime Time conducts evaluations of all its services to inform continuous quality improvement efforts and to access funding for additional resources for our county’s afterschool community. Our Research and Evaluation team creates surveys and assessments, collects and analyzes data, and works with external evaluators. Information on best practices and lessons learned are shared locally and nationally in an effort to strengthen the field of afterschool.
Community Engagement and Supports

• Advocacy
Prime Time’s annual Lights On Afterschool celebration increases community awareness of and focuses public attention on the importance of afterschool. Quality afterschool programs keep children safe, inspire learning, and help working families. Originally conceived by the Afterschool Alliance more than ten years ago, our annual event is one of more than 7,500 held around the country to highlight the benefits and positive impact of quality afterschool programs. Prime Time’s advocacy activities also include ongoing support of the Afterschool Alliance’s Afterschool for All, a national petition campaign aimed at securing the signatures of individuals and organizations in support of access to quality afterschool programs for all children.
• Program Enhancements
In an effort to give Palm Beach County’s children and youth access to a wide range of experiences and learning opportunities, Prime Time partners with local organizations to offer program enhancements at no cost to eligible afterschool providers who might otherwise be unable to provide such experiences on their own. These activities include short-term and long-term programming in such areas as Arts and Culture; Literacy; Academics; Health and Wellness; Sports; Environmental Education; and Technology.
• Afterschool Consortium
The Prime Time Afterschool Consortium brings afterschool and summer program providers together to network with one another, learn about new trends and advocacy activities, and share information about program and staff resources. The Consortium is open to all individuals engaged in the afterschool field in Palm Beach County. A local advisory council helps plan and implement monthly Consortium networking events.
• Lending Library and Resource Center
Prime Time’s Lending Library contains a comprehensive collection of resource material available to Palm Beach County afterschool programs. Computers and other helpful tools and equipment are available in Prime Time’s Resource Center for practitioners’ use to develop afterschool-related projects and creative applications.
