The Trust does not provide direct services, but supports after-school programming for children and youth with grants and technical assistance, as well as community-based programming for young parents and youth that are not in school.

The DC Trust concentrates its programming in city wards Seven and Eight, which are home to the highest percentage of African-American families and boast the lowest mean incomes in the district. City budgets in DC - including funding for The Trust - require Congressional approval.
